A series of photographs
relocating Star Wars to Dubai. They make you weep afresh for the opportunity Lucas missed — how deep the thrill to be got from approaching that iconography from an unfamiliar angle. Only one shot in the whole lousy trilogy gave me goose bumps like that: that shot of the lightsabres cutting through smoke in the first scene of The Phantom Menace. The rest looked
more futuristic,
more advanced,
more developed than the original films, when it should have been less in every case.
