Song for the Day: 'The Flat Earth' by Thomas Dolby

For no other reason but that this is Thomas Dolby's most beautiful song and I don't think people really know that he writes beautiful songs. Trevor Horn once told him that if only 'Airwaves' had been about a girl rather than a transistor radio it would have been number one. I wonder how frustrating it must have been to hear that, knowing deep down that what he really wanted to do was write a song about the development of sonar, or wind socks. Sigh. You have to love a man like this, with so little idea of what is good for him.
